About Vivruti

After spending more than two incredible decades at ISRO, immersed in the fascinating world of space science and engineering, I am bursting with excitement to share this knowledge with society, particularly with school children!

This is an opportune moment to do so, as the space industry is undergoing a transformative change with the involvement of private players. As we move forward, there will be a tremendous demand for space scientists and engineers. And what better way to ignite their passion than to catch them young?

That's where Vivruti comes in—a project fuelled by two core objectives. Firstly, it aims to give back to society by sharing the wealth of knowledge accumulated over the years in ISRO. Secondly, it seeks to cultivate the interest of young minds in space science and engineering.

We will introduce children at the school level to the wonders of both space science and space engineering. They will get hands-on experience by building their own home telescopes and observing the magnificent sky. Additionally, we will guide them through exciting projects like CANSAT to introduce them to the thrilling world of space engineering.

But that's not all! I will personally engage with students, both in person and online, to discuss various space-related topics. I want to foster an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts without any hesitation. My goal is to establish a genuine connection with these young minds, staying in touch with them continuously rather than conducting a one-time program and leaving them on their own.

Together, we will embark on an extraordinary journey of discovery and inspiration. Let's explore the wonders of space and create a generation of aspiring scientists and engineers who will shape the future of space exploration!

Student Satellite Program

Get ready for an exciting adventure with the Vivruti team as we bring you an array of fun and educational programs designed specifically for schools! These engaging programs are open to students from the 4th to 10th standard, offering an opportunity for young minds to delve into the wonders of space science.

To be a part of these extraordinary programs, your school simply needs to host and arrange the event. We have prepared a detailed FAQ section to guide you through the process of hosting Vivruti programs in your school, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for everyone involved.

Please see FAQs for details on hosting Vivruti programs in your school.

Build your first Satellite   A Satellite Making Workshop

WeMoSat is a simplified version of an actual satellite and can be used as a hands-on learning tool to learn about real satellites. WeMoSat monitors real-time atmospheric parameters like temperature, pressure, and humidity and transmits them to a ground station. This data is then displayed in graphical format on a webpage so that students can easily understand and analyse it.

The satellite making workshop is a two-day, four sessions workshop with approximately 3 hours in each session.

On the first day, you will learn all about satellites, various parts of satellites, how satellites are put into orbit and also the day-to-day applications of satellites. Later in the day, you will learn about the software and hardware required to build your own WeMoSat.

On the second day, you will build the WeMoSat and test it. You will check if all sensors are working properly and the webpage is displaying all the data as expected. Finally, you will try to take the satellite to some height while continuing to receive the data from ground and check if the data is changing and updating wirelessly on the webpage.

Participants will be provided with all the materials required to build and test a small working satellite. A comprehensive Q&A session will be organised to clear all their queries and to ensure that they have understood everything properly.
